padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;\">El 17 de mayo es el d\u00eda internacional contra la homofobia, fecha que pretende concienciar sobre la importancia de no discriminar a las personas lesbianas, gays, bisexuales, transexuales e intersexuales (LGBTI) en ning\u00fan lugar del mundo. Este a\u00f1o es tambi\u00e9n el 25 aniversario de la decisi\u00f3n de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud de retirar la homosexualidad de la lista de problemas mentales. Los eurodiputados debatieron con expertos sobre la cuesti\u00f3n el 12 de mayo.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; padding: 0px; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline;\">Ulrike Lunacek, Vicepresidenta del Parlamento Europeo y Presidenta del intergrupo LGTB de la Euroc\u00e1mara, asegur\u00f3 en v\u00edsperas del d\u00eda internacional contra la homofobia que la \u00abdiscriminar por la orientaci\u00f3n sexual es ilegal y la legislaci\u00f3n de la Uni\u00f3n Europea lo proh\u00edbe\u00bb. Lunacek a\u00f1adi\u00f3 que el \u00abParlamento Europeo junto con la sociedad civil ha tenido una gran influencia en que as\u00ed sea\u00bb.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; padding: 0px; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline;\">Dimitrious Papadimouli, Vicepresidente del Parlamento Europeo y Presidente del grupo de alto nivel sobre Igualdad de G\u00e9nero y Diversidad, indic\u00f3 que \u00abla lucha por la igualdad contin\u00faa a diario\u00bb.
